At last, lockdown eases

We're now able to take Sea Dweller out although we can't stay overnight either at our home port of Clarence Marina, Gosport or anywhere else.

We picked a cracking day for a trip to Cowes to fill up with fuel.  It's one of the cheapest around so it's worth the trip over there.  Apart from the fact that we needed a destination.

Despite the sea being calm and the sun shining, it wouldn't be Sea Dweller if there wasn't some sort of drama.  Our boat became slower and slower until we were down to walking pace on the return trip.  As the boat has not moved from its mooring for months, it could have been a number of things so we called the engineer and tried out a few fixes.  None worked.  We still don't know the cause so she can't go out again until she's been lifted out of the water for an inspection.

Fortunately, the weather and tide allowed us to limp back to our mooring without assistance so we're grateful for that.  The sea had been flat and there wasn't any wind or fast-running tide to fight against.  Just as well because in any other conditions, we would have needed to call for help.  We now have to find out what has failed . . . . .
