The RIB has landed!

Sunny days are here again and, at long last, we managed to get the RIB out of our garage and onto the roof of Sea Dweller.  We did have a smaller RIB that came with the boat but this this wasn't man enough, according to Mr R!

The last time he launched me in it, I got caught in Portsmouth Harbour in an almighty hailstorm.  I turned up at the marina very cold and wet and with fingers that didn't seem to belong to me.

So, what could go wrong on a calm, sunny day, I asked?  The launch went fine, the engine was humming and I was pottering along nicely enjoying the views of Pompey and the Spinnaker Tower when the engine petered out.  So, I gave it a few goes, checked the fuel (again) and thought how nice it would be to drift out of the harbour and over the horizon.  After calling Mark and tugging at a few fuel lines, it was time to get out the oars.

I wasn't making much progress but I saw a much bigger, beefier RIB passing by.  Two great guys, Marcus and Phil, came to the rescue.  As Phil was doing his Powerboat Level 2, he was getting hands on practice of towing a boat to safety.  Thank you for saving the day!

Following a bad start, we eventually managed to hoist the RIB onto the roof of Sea Dweller and then we could both breathe a bit easier.
