Our plans are having to change thanks to this tedious virus. Mark had scratched his head and gathered himself up to navigate the English Channel over to Cherbourg. The best tides were on 1 June 2020 meaning that we would get as much help from nature as we could to push us in the right direction. It now looks as though his homework will no longer be needed because we are unlikely to be able to enter France and travel around the coast and around Spain and Portugal.
Cross-channel planning in progress |
Nevertheless, every cloud has a silver lining and it's made us think again. Having worked out the cost in fuel and moorings to go around the coast, we are considering an alternative that we had rejected some months ago; ship transport.
